WhatsApp automatically hides our status from people we don't know
WhatsApp is working to improve user privacy by hiding their online status from strangers. According to a WABetaInfo, the company has already started hiding Android and iOS users’ last seen status from people outside their contact list by default.

Essentially, the app is changing the visibility of a user’s phone number list philippines timestamp from “everyone” to “my contacts” by default, thus excluding any outsiders.

Twitter user Msg abbasi received confirmation of the feature's rollout directly from WhatsApp Support, who also specified that this change will not affect visibility for friends, family, and businesses who have already communicated with a number in the past and where the phone number is saved in contacts.


In recent weeks, WhatsApp also allowed beta users to hide their online status from only some of their contacts, offering greater flexibility and control over their privacy .
