Mix between Instagram Live & Snapchat
An interesting choice of this platform is that all conversations are ephemeral content . This is content that is only available for a limited time. You could compare this to 'going live' on Instagram. The big difference here is that you can still save Live Stories as IGTV or highlight. The content on Clubhouse really disappears after going live.
In that respect, you could say that the operation of this platform comes closer to Snapchat. Via that platform you share images that are only visible temporarily. Only here the big difference is that it is not 'live'. You can also only open a photo the next day.
Business model
The app is currently free to use. Both for speakers and listeners. No ads are shown and there is no premium version. However, plans are being made for a paid version . The idea is that listeners can take out subscriptions to their favorite 'creators'. The creators of the app then receive a small percentage of the subscription costs.
On the one hand, this is of course interesting for the creators of Clubhouse themselves, but it is also a strategy to keep the creators enthusiastic and on board. After all, it has to be interesting for creators to keep creating valuable content.
For now, the platform seems to be mainly interesting for independent entrepreneurs who want to work on their thought leadership and expand their network. The platform also works on a personal basis, which is why there are no business accounts (yet).
If you are a fan of podcasts, this app might be for you. It is fun to download the app anyway phone number list and explore what kind of conversations are taking place. More and more famous names (like Elon Musk) are opening rooms. The platform is growing very fast, so if you get on board now you are still a pioneer!
I personally find it annoying that all content is only available temporarily (only during the 'broadcast'). You can't choose when you feel like listening to a certain conversation. You really have to schedule it, otherwise you simply missed it.

In addition, you only know what time a certain room starts, but there is not always an end time. So you don't always know what to expect. But that is perhaps something I have to get used to. And of course it fuels the FOMO nicely, so that will work in the app's favor.
Have you downloaded Clubhouse yet? If so, what do you think?
