Install the older version of Instagram to stop seeing Reels

Uninstall the Instagram app on your mobile
Download a version of Instagram prior to the introduction of Reels (152.0 on Android and 153.0 on iOS).
You will have to download it with an .apk (Android) or .ipa (iOS) extension from an unofficial platform (you won't be able to do it from Google Play or the App Store). A simple internet search and you'll find plenty of results.
Install that version on your phone. When you run the file, you may be asked for permission to install the app or you may receive a message stating that the installation could not be completed because the developer is not reliable.
To fix this you will need to allow the installation of apps from unknown sources in your phone settings.
Unknown sources
Once you've installed the app, log in to Instagram and voila , no Reels!
Please note that this solution is temporary, as if you have brazil number data automatic updates enabled, your phone will reinstall the latest version of Instagram available . To avoid this, follow the steps below:
On Android : Open the Google Play Store app < Menu < My apps & games < Installed < Instagram , click on the three dots in the top right corner and uncheck Auto-update
On iOS: Go to Settings > [your name] > iTunes & App Store and turn off App Updates .
Automatic updates
Plus, by not updating your Instagram app, you'll not only miss out on Reels, but any new features Instagram releases in the future .
Even some of the pre-launch tools of Reels may stop working due to not receiving the necessary support through updates, and the app itself may force you to update in order to continue using it .
That is why, before opting for this option, you should be aware of all the implications .
