In the ranking of the largest companies in Kazakhstan NB 500 by the business magazine National Business Quarterly, players in the food retail market are ranked as follows (sales revenue, data for 2011):

Magnum Cash&Carry – 34,050 million tenge;
Ramstore Kazakhstan – 21,490 million tenge;
Metro Cash&Carry – 20,010 million tenge;
Skif Trade (Small supermarkets) – 15,400 million tenge;
Rakhmet supermarket chain (Green supermarkets) – 11,770 million tenge.
Since Small supermarkets are relatively small, and Ramstore has stores of various formats with a sales area from 500 to 10,000 sq. m, we will compare only three chains in terms of “sales in one store” – Magnum, Metro and Green. Moreover, 8 Green supermarkets will be equated to 4 “conditional” “Magnums”, since 4 out of 5 Almaty Green stores are small and medium in area.

It turns out that Magnum Cash&Carry is the leader not only in sales across the entire chain, but also in terms of sales within a single store .

If we take into account not only the NB 500 data, but also the honduras cell phone number list figures of Mangum itself on attendance (27 thousand visitors across the entire network), then we arrive at an “average bill” of 3,455 tenge. For comparison: cash expenditures on food products per capita in cities in 2011 amounted to 181,029 tenge or 496 tenge per day (ARKS data).

In short, "Magnum is rehearsing for the end of the world on weekends."
The online magazine Vlast.kz asked me to give an interview about the research industry of Kazakhstan, about our company. I tried to answer the questions:

- what is the size and potential of the research market in Kazakhstan

- how many companies and what kind of companies operate in this market

- what is the situation in marketing research and what are the development trends

and other questions asked to me by Irina Galat.

I hope the interview will be interesting and useful to everyone involved in research, sociology, and marketing.
