There are no official statistics on the structure of retail trade in terms of modern formats (super- and hypermarkets) and small stores (so-called "convenience stores"). Is it possible to calculate it indirectly?
of Kazakhstan on Statistics, the volume of retail trade in food products in Kazakhstan in 2012 was 1.4 trillion tenge, which is 16% more than the year before. If recalculated per capita, it is 84 thousand tenge per year per person or 293 thousand per one average household. Divided by the main calendar values, we get 24.4 thousand tenge per month, 5.6 thousand per week, almost 0.8 thousand daily (per household).
Let's assume that weekly purchases are made mainly in supermarkets belize cell phone number list and hypermarkets, and daily purchases are made in "near-home stores". The share of what is usually bought no more than once a week, namely processed vegetables and fruits, meat, meat products, fish, sugar confectionery, coffee and tea, rice, flour, cereals and sugar, is 41%. And the share of "daily" fresh vegetables and fruits, bakery products, dairy products, soft drinks and tobacco products reaches only 33%.
Under the second assumption that many items from the last list are also purchased once a week, and city dwellers make daily purchases in supermarkets, it turns out that the volume of trade in modern formats can be at least 1.3-1.5 times higher than the volume of trade in “convenience stores”.
It is interesting that in 2009 these shares were 39% and 34%, that is, the share of trade through super- and hypermarkets is growing.
