May the force be with you!
Falling asleep at your desk, another espresso doesn't help, and it's still a long way to 5 p.m.? The simplest solutions are the best - instead of fighting sleepiness, give in to it and give yourself a power nap, or a regenerative power nap!
But before you jump into your unicorn pajamas and hide under the covers, read our article – you will learn how to use naps to your advantage and what to do to wake up refreshed, rested and motivated to act.
Work smart, not hard
Bragging about being tired an phone lists d busy is a thing of the past. What counts now are the results – both those related to work and those related to your well-being and satisfaction with life, i.e. your overall well-being.
If you work a lot, it doesn't necessarily mean that you do things better or achieve more than others - it just means that you spend a lot of time working.
As a result, your health, mood and motivation may suffer, and then your results will be poor – so is it really something to brag about?
Jason Fried and David Heinemeier Hansson, authors of Rework , wrote:
“What sets people who are ten times more creative apart from others is not that they work ten times harder. It’s that they approach a problem in a creative way that causes them to put in only one-tenth the effort that others would need to solve the same problem. Without sleep, you can’t approach a problem in a creative way, so you’ll have to put in ten times more effort than is necessary . ”
Add to that the fact that you'll be dozing off over a project and won't notice when you stray from the requirements, and you'll probably make a lot more mistakes that will take you a lot of time to find and fix in the future. And then you might think about catching up on work at the expense of a night's sleep.
If you feel like you've already taken your seat on this rollercoaster of insomnia and overwork, you can still get off: throw on your kimono and take advantage of the invaluable benefits of a regenerative nap!
