Tools to assess who needs attention

1. Labor market
Many people have a great distance to the labour market for various reasons and are therefore vulnerable. In various municipalities (including Zaanstad, Deventer and Enschede) the 8TING concept has therefore been used with the aim of reducing this distance. After a thorough analysis of available databases, extensive customer profiles of people on social assistance were first built up in these municipalities. Up to 80 characteristics per individual were mapped out. How? By asking questions via simple questionnaires. Not everything at once, but gradually. This mainly concerns soft criteria: someone is more than his or her CV. This could include parental involvement, division of care tasks and household tasks or the preference for a type of communication tool.

In this way, extensive customer profiles are created on the basis of which more targeted attention is given by the work coaches involved. Work coaches make specific selections based on the available characteristics. In this way, they can provide relevant tips and advice based on the interests, limitations and possibilities in the available customer profiles. And this is offered in the most personal way possible. Job coaches have the tools to estimate who needs extra attention and when, based on automatically generated reports. This digital attention forms the basis for further guidance and development of job seekers on the way to the ultimate goal: outflow to work.

2. Social employment provision
Since 2015, people with a work disability must be guided to work with a 'regular' employer as much as possible. The physical distance between these vulnerable people and their job coaches has increased. Previously, they often worked at locations of the social employment agency itself. At the same time, budgets are under pressure, which has made the caseload of job coaches heavier, among other things. The need for digital innovation is therefore evident.

Digital environment improves information provision
In Doetinchem, SW employees working at Laborijn are better and more effectively informed than before. By introducing a digital environment, accessible via app and desktop and tailored to various personal preferences of the employee, the communication between employees and job coaches and the information provision from the organization have been greatly improved.
