From studies to the first indonesia phone number example job in the industry
TALENT DAYS: Hey Basia, we're glad you're with us! Starting from the beginning - can you share with us your story of how you started your job search in your current industry?
BASIA: Hi! I started looking for a job, and quite intensively, after defending my BA in American studies. I decided to take a year off from studying and focus on finding a permanent job. I was really counting on combining the job with my previous studies, because this field really excites me. I was open to all offers, but cooperation with the United States was always in the back of my mind, as a goal to achieve.
Basia's experiences and advice related to Talent Days
TALENT DAYS: Well, we did it — by participating in the Talent Days job fair . Tell us about your experience of exploring the employer stands and participating?
BASIA: Interestingly, I made the decision to come to the Talent Days fair very spontaneously - I took my CV and decided to look for a job in a different way than before. I was surprised by how many employers and different positions were available at the fair - seriously, there were tons of them! I talked to many people, recruiters from different companies, other participants - everyone was very helpful and answered my questions. I also took advantage of many attractions that were prepared by you and the employers. In retrospect, I have very fond memories of the whole event.
TALENT DAYS: Would you have any valuable advice for people planning to participate in Talent Days?
BASIA: The most important thing is not to be afraid and try to approach the companies' stands, because that's what they're there for. Even if we think we have no chance and we're not good candidates, fate can pleasantly surprise us. All you need to do is prepare your CV appropriately, upload all the necessary information to your profile on talentdays.pl and start talking to employers. If we're stressed, we can always approach together with friends. Be yourself and let yourself be known - and who knows, maybe you'll leave the fair with a great job offer!
Applying Online VS Job Fairs
TALENT DAYS: You decided to look for a job in a different way than before - what advantages do you see at job fairs over applying online?
BASIA: A big advantage of trade fairs is direct contact with the employer. Applying online will not replace this. It is easier to establish contact and learn more about the company first-hand through a conversation. At the same time, the employer can get to know us and after submitting our CV, we are not a completely anonymous candidate, as is the case with trade fairs.
Recruitment at Getinge
TALENT DAYS: Basia, how was the recruitment process at Getinge from your perspective? Did anything surprise you?
BASIA: The recruitment process at Getinge went really smoothly. After receiving a call that the company was interested in my candidacy, I had a phone conversation with my current Team Leader Asia Kozicka. Because I work as a USA Customer Service Intern, a high level of English and the availability to work late hours across different time zones were very important. This was no surprise to me - I was prepared for it.
